Afrigen Energy Ltd is a full-spectrum renewable energy company driving East Africa’s transition to reliable, affordable, and sustainable power.
Together with our partners, we develop, finance, construct and operate renewable energy projects across all major technologies for commercial & industrial (C&I), utility-scale (IPP) and institutional clients. Our integrated model ensures projects are technically sound, financially viable and execution-ready.
Our capabilities span the full power projects lifecycle including but not limited to:
• Project development and feasibility studies
• Financing structuring and capital sourcing
• EPC contractor sourcing and management
• Construction and commissioning
• Operations & Maintenance (O&M)
We deliver solutions across solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, battery storage, biomass and hybrid systems tailored to specific energy needs and market conditions.
With over 400MW of experience across landmark projects in Kenya and Uganda, Afrigen has a proven track record of turning opportunities into bankable, construction-ready assets. Since 2008, our expertise covers early-stage development, including site acquisition, permitting, engineering coordination, project structuring and financing bridging the gap between concept and project execution.
Beyond utility-scale development, Afrigen has expanded into C&I solar, off-grid rural energy systems and energy-efficient appliances. In partnership with a leading international manufacturer, we are introducing custom off-grid solar kits, rural electrification solutions and solar lanterns designed for Kenyan households and businesses; delivering affordable, reliable power while reducing the energy gap in the society.
We collaborate with the Afforestation Society of Kenya on the TreeSaver Jiko, an advanced wood-fuel stove that reduces firewood consumption by up to 70%. This innovation lowers household energy costs, improves indoor air quality, and supports efforts to combat deforestation and climate change.
Afrigen Energy partners with businesses, investors and developers to deliver bankable projects that enhance reliability, reduce energy costs and create long-term value.
Afrigen Energy is more than an energy company; it is a catalyst for transformation and a driver of sustainable power across East Africa and beyond.
